Creating a Linked Appointment

Help! Should I create an appointment or session?

HERE'S A FLASH FOR YOU!

A linked appointment is tied to a specific client. For appointments that don't involve a specific client, Create an Unlinked Appointment instead.

Creating an Appointment for an Existing Client

  1. To find the time and date, refer to the Calendar Overview topic.

  2. When you have located the desired time and date, double-click it. The Scheduling Wizard will pop up to walk you through the scheduling steps.

  3. From the Scheduling Wizard choose Create a New Linked Appointment (with a client). Click Next.

  4. The default option is already set to Use an Existing Client Record. Click Next.

  5. To find the desired client, choose the search criteria from the drop-down box and tab to the criteria field. Enter the corresponding information (I.e., search criteria; last name, criteria field; Johnson.) Then press Enter.

  6. All the clients that match the criteria that you have chosen will be displayed.

  7. If you don't see the client you're looking for, use the scroll bar to see additional records or choose another search criteria and try again. When you find the correct client, click in the gray box to the left of the client to select it. Click Next.

  8. Verify the existing client information and enter any new information they have provided. Click Next.

  9. Update client information as needed. Click Next.

  10. Add family members as necessary. Click Next.

  11. Add any custom information you keep track of. Click Next.

  12. Check the groups the client belongs to and make changes as desired. Click Next.

  13. Add client or status logs notes as needed. Click Next.

  14. Type in the appointment description. Press Tab.

  15. Choose an appointment type from the drop-down list or type one in. Press Tab.
