Linking a Task

Linking a task to a client is helpful for organizing tasks as well as for tracking a detailed client history (i.e., seeing all the tasks you have done for a specific client).

Follow these steps to link a task to a client:

  1. Open the task.

  2. Click the Link button on the ribbon.

  3. Search for the client and single-click to select them. Click OK.

  4. Choose one of the following options for linking the client:

    • Link to Client - Links the task to the client record. The task will appear on the Tasks tab of the client record.

    • Link to the following Session - Choose a specific session from the list. The task will be linked to the selected session as well as to the session client. The task will appear on the Tasks tab of both the client and session records.

    • Link to the following Invoice - Choose a specific invoice from the list. The tasks will be linked to the selected invoice, any session the invoice is related to, and the client. The task will appear on the Tasks tab of the client, session, and invoice records.

  5. Click Link to finish linking the task to the client, session, or invoice record. The task will now appear on the Tasks tab of any linked records.
