Time Clock

NOTE: This feature is available in the Standard, Professional, and Enterprise versions of both Spectra and myStratus Desktop.

The Time Clock allows users to clock in and clock out, recording their hours. To use the Time Clock, go to File > Time Clock or press Ctrl+T from anywhere in the software except the calendar. There are a variety of security options that can be set up related to the time clock. Users can be required to enter their credentials when using the time clock in Maintenance > Preferences > Company (Studio) Preferences > Miscellaneous. Additional options, including the ability to limit an employee's usage of the time clock, is available in Maintenance > General (Studio) > Security Groups.

Using the Time Clock

  • Select the correct Employee name from the drop-down list. See also: Users

  • If you are not clocked in, the Clock In Date and Time will automatically be filled in with the current date and time. Likewise, the Clock Out Date and Time will automatically be filled in if you are already clocked in. If you have the proper security permissions, you can also modify the date and time.

  • Select a Time Code and enter in any comments.

  • You can click on an entry from the last 30 days and modify it if you have the proper security permissions.

  • Your total hours for the work week (as defined on the Calendar tab of Company (Studio) Preferences) are displayed below the time clock entries. To set when an employee starts earning overtime hours, go to the Reports tab of the Company (Studio) Preferences.
